ETSI/ITU V5 Interface¶
The V5 interface was introduced into digital Central Office / Telephone exchanges as a vendor-independent, standards-based interface for aggregating subscriber access lines.
See this video recording of a presentation for more information about this interface.
We have acquired a number of V5 access multiplexers (AN).
laforge has started an implementation of exchange (LE) side V5 protocol stack which jolly later completed.
V5 Access Networks¶
A number of vendors produced related equipment series:
- Siemens (Fastlink)
- Nokia EKSOS
- DeTeWe ALIAN
Talking to a V5 access network¶
In order to talk to a V5 acces network (AN), you need to emulate the phone switch (LE).
We have created the osmo-v5 software to do exactly that.
