ISDN Video Telephony¶

ISDN supports video telephony. Deutsche Bundespost was runnig an ISDN video telephony pilot project in 1991.

• ITU-T F.721 (high level service description)
• ITU-T H.221 (multiplex layer, divides B channel into 8 sub-channels of 8kbps)
• ITU-T H.242
• ITU-T H.320
• ITU-T H.261 (video codec)

ISDN video calls can operate either over one or over 2 B channels.
