BTX / Prestel / Videotex / Minitel¶
In the early 1980s, various different countries launched digital online services around the Videotex standard, which was designed in the late 1970s. It was used to deliver information (usually pages of text) to a user in computer-like format, typically to be displayed on a television or a dumb terminal.
