Description
DTX/DRX support needs to be implemented and tested. It should be a user-configurable option

- Assignee set to msuraev
- make the setting VTY-configurable and then set the respective bits in OML/RSL messages.
- make sure to process measurement reports correctly, i.e. if DTXu is active, only use the -SUB values of the measurements should be used for handover decisions, as the -FULL measurement reports contain the muted bursts/blocks.
- make sure the voice frame handlign works for all codecs (HR/FR/EFR/AMR-HR/AMR-FR) and in the followign modes:
- internal MNCC handler without RTP proxy (RTP direct between BTSs)
- internal MNCC handler with RTP proxy (RTP via NITB)
- external MNCC handler (like lcr, osmo-sip-connector) with TCH data via MNCC
- external MNCC handler (like lcr, osmo-sip-connector) with RTP directly to lcr/osmo-sip-connector
- perform and end-to-end test with ip.acces nanoBTS
- perform and end-to-end test with osmo-bts

make sure to process measurement reports correctly
DTXu should not affect the value of rxqual transmitted by ms in measurement reports because it's calculated based on downlink signal - the DTXd will. However the values measured by BTS itself will be affected by DTXu and not DTXd.

- got acked RSL "mode modify request" with
DTXd and DTXu bits set in Channel Mode IE - got Measurement Report RSL from BTS with "DTX used" bit set in Measurement Results.
Note: in the same report there is Uplink Measurement IE with DTXd bit unset.

Was this using regular 'master' branch without any patches?

tested all codecs with internal and external mncc handler (osmo-sip-connector + kamailio), test with external voice source (asterisk) will be made once current rtp issue is fixed.
