== Power Connection == 

 The Hirschmann plug used for the power connection is called ''Hirschmann Leitungsdose CA 4 LD 09 ZS'' and has the product number 
 932 362-100. 

 The pin-out is as follows: 
  * GND: your shealding/earth line (PE), German:yellow/green wire 
  * 1: phase (L), German: Brown wire 
  * 2: not connected 
  * 3: neutral (N), German: Blue wire 

 Please refer to the photograph of a fully wired plug:

 == E1 Hardware interface == 

 We are using a 120 Ohms balanced connection between the BS11 and a HFC-E1 card. 
 To configure the BS11 hardware correctly, you need to 
  * open the connection between pin 2 and 3 of the 4 jumpers below connector J01 

 === Cable to RJ45 === 

 The E1 interface[s] of the BS-11 are on some strange BNC-related twinax plugs called "BR2" (Radiall product # 605006000), you can find the PDF data sheet of the connectors at [http://radiall.applixia.net/catalogue/resource?path=PRODUCT/PDF/TDS/coaxialconnectors/R605006000EN.pdf Radiall] and you can buy them online from [http://webradiall.applixia.net/buyonline?PN=R605006000&LANG=en&SUP=FARNELL this link] (which for Germany results in a hyperlink to [http://de.farnell.com/jsp/displayProduct.jsp?sku=4196995 this page of the Farnell webshop] where they cost EUR 16.51 each). 

  * left Y01 PCM in (from BSC): RJ45 pin 4,5 
  * Y02 PCM out (to BSC): RJ45 pin 1,2 
  * Y03 PCM left open 
  * Y04 PCM left open 


 == Configuration of BTSM Object == 

 === bs11_config === 

 If you're using [wiki:bs11_config], then the configuration is compiled-in (thus automatically 
 correct) and you can only change it by changing the source code.   

 === LMT === 

 If you're using LMT, you have to use the following settings for the BTSM object: 

  * Start LMT Release 04.21(!) and make sure the cable is connected. BS11 requires PCM30CRC4    64kBit/s no Subslots 
  * Set the serial port to the port you connected your serial console 
    cable to OM Layer on Timeslot 1 
  * Logon as Administrator (Password TEI for OM Layer default Siemens is "admin") 
  25 (but configurable in BS11 [wiki:LMT]) 

  * The factory configuration will the following parameters are not have any software installed 
    (Phase will show Software required) 
  configurable 
   * Select Software->Download SM Safety Load RSL Layer on Timeslot 1, too 
   * TEI for RSL is fixed in    Siemens equipment 
   * TEI = 0 für TRX0 
   * TEI = 1 für TRX1 
   * Attention: if you select OM Layer TEI 0 oder 1, RSL can no longer be brought up 

  * Timeslots for TCHs 
   * TRX0: TS2 und TS3 
   * TRX1: TS4 und TS5 

 === E1 interface === 

 LI Objekt:    Line    MULTIDROP 

 Impedance 120 Ohm balanced to load BTSBMC76.SWI from 
    connect to HFC-E1 board 
 Additionally you will need to change some jumpers on the HS010876 directory connector board 
 of BS11: 
  * After the download completes the BTS will restart and enter Phase 
    Wait Min Config dip-switch SW3: 
   * 1-4: off 
   * 5-8: on 
  * Create an Object "LI", "GPSU", "ALCO", "CCLK", "BBSIG 0", with the 
    default config TB01: no jumper 
  * Create an Object "PA 0" with the following config: "GSM 0,03W(M3)" 
    This point is important to reduce the antenna power output! TB02: no jumper 
  * You will need a special password to activate "BBSIG 1" and "PA 1" 
    Configuration is analog to Channel 0 TB03: no jumper 
  * Create Object "EnvaBTSE 0" up to "EnvaBTSE 3" with TB04: no jumper 

 SW3 is the default 
    options 
  * As soon as all configuration options dip-switch underneath the connector board 
 TB0* are set up the BTS will enter 
    four jumpers on the Maintenance phase and you will be able to load left hand side of the main firmware 
  connector board. 

 === Database === 

 Important database settings: 

  * Select "Download SM" in and select the file HS011106.SWL database has to be downloaded from the 
    HS011106 directory 
  PC via E1 to BS11 


  * Grab a coffee and occupy yourself BCCH channel combination Type 5 or 8 (including SDCCH for about 45mins SMS) 
  * In BTSM Object set Timeslot no. to 1, Subslot no. to 64kbit/s 
    signalling and TEI to 25 TCH combination 0 or 9
