h1. ETSI/ITU V5 Interface The V5 interface was introduced into digital Central Office / Telephone exchanges as a vendor-independent, standards-based interface for aggregating subscriber access lines. See "this video recording of a presentation":https://media.ccc.de/v/osmodevcall-20211228-laforge-retro-isdn-v5 for more information about this interface. We have acquired a number of V5 access multiplexers (AN). @laforge has started an implementation of exchange (LE) side V5 protocol stack which @jolly later completed. h2. V5 Access Networks A number of vendors produced related equipment series: * [[Siemens_FastLink]] AMXS Siemens (Fastlink) * [[Nokia EKSOS]] * [[DeTeWe ALIAN]] h2. Talking to a V5 access network In order to talk to a V5 acces network (AN), you need to emulate the phone switch (LE). We have created the [[osmo-v5]] software to do exactly that.
