h1. Arcnet

Arcnet is another ancient network technology that has mostly been forgotten about, like [[Token_Ring]] or [[FDDI]].
As a token-passing system, contrary to Ethernet, it has deterministic upper bounds for the maximum latency of a packet traversing the network - which is why it was adopted in al ot of contemporary industrial automation/control equipment.
