RRUS¶
The RRU (remote Radio Unit) is basically an outdoor version of the classic indoor radio units like the RUS.
This provides the advantage that it can be mounted on the top (or at half height) of the tower, reducing the length of the lossy coaxial cables, and extending the length of the front-haul interface.
The front-haul distance is limited by signal propagation speeds and is in the magnitude of 40km between RRUS and digital unit.
