ISDN Terminal Adapters

ISDN Terminal Aadapters (TAs) were used to emulate a RS-232 attached modem with Hayes-compatible AT command set, while instead of attaching to analog phone lines, they attached to ISDN, permitting speeds of 64000 bps on one B-channel.

They were comparatively expensive and used primarily with computers that didn't feature ISA or PCI bus for the much lower cost ISDN Interface Cards, or computers for which no drivers for such internal interface cards existed.
