Description
[certain?] u-blox modules support the binary Sim Access Profile via a virtual USB UART or TS 07.10 mux channel. It can be enabled using AT+USAPMODE.
With such a modem, one could imagine a variant of osmo-remsim-client that provides the SAP interface, so no specific hardware (like sysmoQMOD or SIMtrace2) is needed.
The big disadvantage is of course that it only works with very specific cellular modems, and there is tight integration required with whatever is driving the modem (ofono, ModemManager,...) in the application.
There are currently no plans to implement this, just adding it as a theoretical option for future extension.
