Description

osmo-mgw.git already exists and contains the legacy MGCP code as well as the old osmo-bsc_mgcp. osmo-bsc_mgcp's purpose was to help RTP streams across a NAT. Now we need a Media Gateway proper. For example, we no longer want to bear with the dual-endpoint magic with implicit port numbers that osmo-bsc_mgcp employs.

We require a clean new approach to a Media Gateway implementation that is able to transcode among other things.

It looks like we will move to the new MGW incrementally, after all.

I think the incremental approach is doing fine. However, once the functionality is restored we have to think about the RTP processing and how to make it more resource efficient. However, right now the functionality should have priority. See also #2454

Since the patch for the initial implementation is merged now it would make sense to close this ticket. When we keep it open as a placeholder/reminder. Just assign it back to me.
