I just tried:

OsmoHLR> show rate-counters 
OsmoHLR> show stats 
Ungrouped counters:

so there seems to be no statistics at all, which is not very good from an operational point of view.

It shouldn't be very hard to add some counters e.g. for the various GSUP procedures, or the number of MSC/SGSN conncetions, number of EUSEs routed, ...
