Spec Reference:

Description

he PCCCH are optional in GPRS and currently not implemented by OsmoPCU. This means that we cannot use 11bit RACH bursts, which would be useful for later EGPRS support.

Without PCCCH, there is no PRACH, and without PRACH, there is no multi-slot EGPRS TBF assignment in single-phase access.

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

PCCCH/PBCCH was removed from more recent versions of the 3GPP specs, so we can no longer assume all phones will support it :(
